Welcome to my design portfolio
Everything String is a deployable and incredibly versatile survival cord, which can be melted at low temperatures to create structures and tools. The survival paracord comes as a bracelet which can be worn by the user to make sure they are always prepared for any situation which could arise.
The properties of the cord are incredibly interesting, which had a surprising feature when pulled with a good amount of force. The cord will stretch to a half millimetre thickness and extend in length up to five times the original length of the extruded cord. The thin stretched cord will then hold an extreme amount of force, only snapping when pulled quickly and with lots of effort.
After experimenting with the uses of Fixits I was curious as too how it could function if extruded into a string like form, similar to many rope and paracord products available for survival purposes. Using polymorph which is a material similar to Fixits, I extruded and reeled around 30 meters of cord to allow further experimentation.
The instruction sheet shown above describes the process a user can take to create their own custom slot together tent structure using some bamboo sticks and the Everything string bracelet. The user is simply able to wrap the cord around the sticks to tightly bind them together, then apply an even heat over the binding. The cord will then cool and the sticks can be removed from the binding to leave a solid attachment joint so that the structure can be disassembled and reassembled for transport.
